THE BOURNE SUPREMACY
The man who calls himself Jason Bourne (Matt
Damon) is back. This time he turns up in a
beautiful town by the sea and in the close
company of the beautiful Marie (Franka Potente).
Still, his life is not idyllic. Nightmares plague him
as he tries to piece together his past life with
only vague memories as his guides. With his
instincts and training still intact Jason notices
that he is being followed and quickly pulls up
stakes with Marie in tow. On the run again, all of
his skills as a former assassin are needed to
escape from some international baddies and
elude the CIA agents.

Director Paul Greengrass gives us a great follow
up to The Bourne Identity with this white-knuckle
thriller. And Robert Ludlum's character remains
intact in this screen adaptation written by Tony
Gilroy. Popular, but not always appreciated,
cinematic techniques are generously employed
and cast a rather shaky, grainy, subdued tone to
an otherwise top notch effort.
Mary’s comments
A thriller from the word "Go," the entire film
is one big, exciting chase. And it's
absolutely absorbing and exciting to be a
part of the action. As a member of the
audience you will find yourself ducking and
leaning from time to time as Jason battles
to save himself and uncover his enemies. I
found myself pleasantly exhausted at the
conclusion of the movie. I'm ready for
another chapter.
Brenda’s comments
Jason Bourne is a cool, calm killing
machine, and Matt Damon plays the part
well. No showboating, just the trained
moves of a professional killer. Everything
about the film is steady except the camera.
I'm aware that this cinematography "look"
is popular, but to me, it is a distraction. This
Bourne-again movie has all of the thrill of
the first, but can stand alone, if necessary,
in the plot department.
