A CHRISTMAS CAROL    (2009)
                           SYNOPSIS

DISNEY’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a multi-sensory thrill
ride re-envisioned by Academy Award®-winning
filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, captures the fantastical
essence of the classic Dickens tale in a
groundbreaking 3D motion picture event.

Ebenezer Scrooge (JIM CARREY) begins the Christmas
holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his
faithful clerk (GARY OLDMAN) and his cheery nephew
(COLIN FIRTH).  But when the ghosts of Christmas Past,
Present and Yet to Come take him on an eye-opening
journey revealing truths Old Scrooge is reluctant to
face, he must open his heart to undo years of ill will
before it’s too late.  --©  Walt Disney Pictures

Disney’s A Christmas Carol is Dickens’s classic tale about Ebenezer Scrooge in 3-D Digital Imagery
featuring the voice talents of Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Robin Wright Penn and Bob Hoskins.
Jim Carrey, not only plays the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, but also the roles of the ghosts of Christmas
past, present and future.  The computer generated character designs for the scrooge are exceptional;
however, the other characters look slightly plastic.  This wild virtual experience leaves audiences less
than satisfied and may even frighten small children.  Jim Carrey’s performance is outstanding, but is
overshadowed by director Robert Zemeckis’ pointless additions to the classic tale such as; Scrooge’s
ride through a city drain pipe.  This ninety minute movie drags on for what seems like two and half hours
and does not leave the audience with that warm and fuzzy feeling that its past adaption’s have left.
