DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN
Helen McCarter (Kimberly Elise) has it all,
all the accoutrements of wealth, that is.
Sadly, it only takes Helen a few days to fall
from the grace of her wealthy scoundrel of
a spouse and land right back in the ghetto
where she must rely on her family to help
her out. Fortunately, she hasn't forgotten
the basic lessons of life gleaned from her
humble upbringing. But will it be strong
enough to get her through these hard
times? Just remember, "hard times"
doesn't always mean "bad times".

Helen manages to find strength in her
family ties, but wait until you meet some of
the relatives. Grandmother Madea (Tyler
Perry) is one in a million, make that two
million and still counting. And the rest of the
gang might make you wish for a family
reunion, so you can see them again. Be
prepared for several subplots as you enjoy
the show.
Brenda's comments
More than I bargained for, this is a
humdinger. Tyler Perry is fine as a caring
young attorney and family man, but he's
over the top as Madea. You'll love the
character. Here's hoping to see more of her
in the near future. See it, the craziness is
contagious.
Mary's comments
A very ethnic film, DIARY manages hits the
spot, the revenge spot, for all cultures.  It's
easy to buy into the premise. The idea of
being dumped, big time, and the rage that
follows is the common thread. Simply
unforgettable characters are the strong
point the movie, Madea in particular.
