Adam Sandler’s new comedy, Grown Ups, may contain a remarkable ensemble of comedians; however,
the script is lacking in originality and humor. This comedy is about a group of childhood friends that are
brought back together by the death of their childhood basketball coach. Due to their busy grown up lives
they have not seen each other much since they have gotten older. After the funeral they all stay the
weekend in together in their childhood lake house. With Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David
Spade, and Rob Schneider playing the five kids you would expect this script to be full of laughs , but most
of the lines come off unscripted and not in a good way. It almost seems as if the cast decided to make a
full length feature out of their summer vacation together. The movie does, however, have entertaining
moments and a great message.
