THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY

Writing credits go to Douglas Adams for his
wonderfully silly story of an Earthman, Arthur Dent
(Martin Freeman), who is whisked off into space by his
best friend, an alien, only minutes before the planet is
scheduled for demolition. Once in outer space, the two
must hop rides whenever and wherever they can,
remembering all the time not to panic.
Thanks to this modern rendition of a popular book and
an even more popular radio drama, a new generation
will glean valuable knowledge about the universe. What
is the most useful possession of a space hitchhiker?
Who are your real friends? What is a really bad day on
Earth? And, the true answer to the meaning of life, even
if the question is missing, will be revealed. A comedy, a
fantasy filled with the most unlikely adventures
imaginable, "Hitchhiker"does not have a universal
appeal. Many Earthlings will find the humor a bit droll
for a space comedy.
Be prepared for a collection of spacemen who will
change your mind as to what an alien might look or act
like. Whimsical beings from the far reaches of the
universe are portrayed. Director Garth Jennings has
some of the best in his cast, Mos Def, as the alien
buddy of Arthur and Zooey Deschanel as his love
interest produces chemistry at its best, with no
atmospheric barriers.
