I, ROBOT
Del Spooner (Will Smith) is a Chicago cop and he
doesn't trust robots. The problem is that the year
is 2035 and every home has a robot or two to
handle the everyday chores that human's don't
want to do for themselves. Soon Del's worst fear
becomes reality when a murder is committed
and all signs point to the perp being a new model
of robot, an NS5. The kicker being that the victim
is practically the father of robotic science,
Professor Alfred Lanning. Perhaps this new
model has forgotten a basic law that robots may
never harm humans. Or maybe it's just a glitch
the new design?
Officer Spooner is alone in his theory that the
robots may have some nefarious plans up their
metal sleeves, but soon picks up an ally in the
beautiful Dr. Susan Calvin (Bridgette Moynahan),
a protege of Dr. Lanning, who helps him solve the
case.
Based on the Issac Asimov novel of the same
title, this science fiction, action movie is artfully
directed by Alex Proyas.

Mary's Comments
for him, and if the murder rap doesn't stick,
he may just have a film career. All of the
special effects are great, but not
overwhelming to the wonderful sci-fi story
that's been around for years. Finally the
technology exists to make a blockbuster
out of it. A captivating, fun movie made for
escape. As for me, I'd better stick to an old
NS4 model, those NS5's are a little too
smart for me.
Brenda's Comments\
I-Robot is a fun romp into the future where
technology is king and man no longer has
to worry about the little chores of life. Now
he has to worry about bigger things, like his
robots turning on him. A great story is
coupled with fine film making and the
product is a top rate, high-budget fun flick.
