THE INCREDIBLES

Back in “the day” people really appreciated the
hard work of super heroes, but today's
litigious society has called a halt to the antics
that were once admired. As a result, all super
heroes have gone into an identity protection
program where they are forced to live among
the “regular” folks and hide their super
powers. Such is the case with Bob Parr
(formerly Mr. Incredible, voiced by Craig T.
Nelson), his wife Helen Parr (formerly
Elastigirl, voiced by Holly Hunter) and their
three lovely, and power-endowed, children.
Bob has morphed into an overweight,
suburban, insurance salesman and he is on
the edge of a meltdown when he is called back
into action via a mysterious message. And
sure enough, there's plenty of good, hard work
left for an aging super hero in this world.
A first for the Disney/Pixar division of films,
this one rates a PG with the MPAA for action
violence. Under the direction of Brad Bird
comes this very entertaining animated feature
that can be enjoyed by kids and adults quite
easily.
Brenda's comments
The Pixar villains are equally as well done
as the heroes. Samuel L. Jackson voices
the evil Frozone, and Jason Lee does the
master criminal Syndrome. Both give
notable performances from the Darkside.
And, after all, if there were no great bad
guys, we wouldn't need any super heroes.
I'm ready for a sequel!
Mary's comments
A real action/thriller compared to “Nemo.” And
it's those high action scenes that give this
feature its special flavor. The animation is so
well done that one has to marvel at the
mastery in executing the latest technology.
See it, you'll be a happy camper.
