OCEAN'S TWELVE
This is what happens when someone rats you
out and you have to make restitution to the guy
you robbed. The whole gang of thieves must
come back for an encore crime, so that they can
raise the money owed to casino operator Terry
Benedict (Andy Garcia). And we're not talking
small change here. He wants the whole $160
million that he lost in the heist, plus interest. And
that interest can kill you!
Director Steven Soderbergh has rallied the old
gang George Clooney as Danny Ocean, the
ringleader, Brad Pitt as Rusty Ryan, Matt Damon
as pickpocket, Linus Caldwell, and with the
ladies, Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones
for some icing on the cake. And it works, but not
quite as well as Oceans Eleven.
Nevertheless, it's supposed to be fun and it is.
The new heist is clever but predictable. But all
the minute details are well laid out, so that we
can follow the whole caper without needing a

Could they fit any more famous names on
the marquee? Probably not. In spite of the
star quality, it's a bit shallow, but still fun.
The gang is in a bad spot and they have to
do "one more job" to straighten things out.

The cast list is the best thing going for this
movie. And that's not necessarily bad. All
are accomplished and a treat to see. Good
vibes emanating from the screen reach the
audience and the result is satisfying, if not
exactly fresh.
