PIRANHA 3D  (2010)
                                     SYNOPSIS

From Director Alexandre AJA (The Hills Have Eyes)
comes the new action thriller Piranha 3D.

Every year the population of sleepy Lake Victoria
explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for Spring Break, a riot
of sun and drunken fun.

But this year, there's something more to worry about
than hangovers and complaints from local old timers.

A new type of terror is about to be cut loose on Lake
Victoria.  After a sudden underwater tremor sets free
scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely
group of strangers must band together to stop
themselves from becoming fish food for the area's
new razor-toothed residents.

Boobs, blood, and bad taste make Piranha 3D a fun and entertaining flick for adult audiences.  Director
Alexandre Aja
(The Hills Have Eyes) is able to once again disgust and thrill audiences with his remake of a
70’s horror classic.  The beginning starts with a great nod off to Jaws with Richard Dreyfus fishing out in
the middle of quiet Lake Victoria.  Unbeknown to him or anyone else a huge earthquake sets free
thousands of prehistoric man-eating fish which happens to be the day before thousands of spring
breakers take over the lake.  Not only have the spring breakers arrived but so has Derrick Jones (Jerry O’
Connell;
Obsessed, Tomcats), creator of Wild Wild Girls with two of his sexy Wild Wild Girls Dani (Playboy
Cover girl Kelly Brook) and Crystal (Riley Steele).   Julie Forester (Elizabeth Shue;
Leaving Las Vegas, Hide
and Seek
), the town sheriff,  and her deputy, Fallon (Ving Rhames; Dawn of the Dead, Entrapment) are
trying their best to get everyone out of the water and shut down the lake; however, the young college kids
ignore the warning and remain in the water.  With a little help from the king of gore, Eli Roth (Hostel,
Grindhouse; who also has a cameo as the wet t-shirt contest host) gore and mayhem lovers could not ask
for more because this 30 minute scene is nothing but blood, guts, and body parts.   The piranhas rip the
screaming spring breakers to pieces devouring various body parts and tearing other parts off.  The 3D
effects are very in your face and since the action is so fast the 3D effects can be slightly nauseating.  The
story line is a little weak, but for audiences that love blood, boobs, bad jokes and just pure entertainment:
this movie is sure to be a hit.
