BRENDA AND DAVID
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was the adventure that introduced us to Captain
Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). As Dead Man's Chest begins, Captain Jack Sparrow appears with a
picture of a key that he needs to find to open a chest that contains something belonging to Davy Jones
(Bill Nighy). Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) have been sentenced to
death by Lord Cutler Beckett (Hollander) unless they can produce Captain Jack, who has the magical
compass which Beckett wants to find Davey Jones' chest. Captain Jack owes Davey Jones a debt,
requiring one hundred years of service on his ship, The Flying Dutchman. Captain Jack sets out to find
the chest as a barter for his freedom. Whoever controls Davey'Jones' chest (heart) also controls the
sea. Will wants to save his father from Davy Jones. Elizabeth wants to find Will and Commodore
Norrington (Jack Davenport) wants revenge. The special effects are fantastic, especially Davy Jones'
face. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is a bit too long but a fun movie that will hopefully get
everything resolved in the third installment.
