the emotionally charged story about one woman’s struggle with depression and self
discovery. Based on the national bestselling autobiography, this film stars talented Christina Ricci,
Academy Award® winner Jessica Lange and an all-star cast. Elizabeth Wurtzel (Ricci)
is an exceptional student writer who earns a scholarship to Harvard. This scholarship finally gives her
the chance to escape from her overbearing mother (Jessica Lange), put her
absentee father out of her mind and concentrate on her true talent. But once Elizabeth is on her own at
college, she dives into a self-destructive mode of drug abuse, drinking and sex. This ultimately leads
her into a dark depression that paralyzes her academically and socially. Her saving grace is her
therapist and the wonder drug of the 80’s, Prozac.
