"Shutter Island" is the story of two U.S. marshals,
Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule
(Mark Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and
barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to

Director Martin Scorsese (The Departed, Casino) brings yet another dreary, mind-blogging film to the big
screen. Shutter Island, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed, Blood Diamond) in the lead role, is
about a U.S. Marshall who is investigating the disappearance of a woman from an asylum that contains
“the most dangerous of the criminally insane”. The asylum is in an old civil war fort on a remote island
called Shutter Island. The previews allude to the movie being a chilling thriller, but audiences expecting a
scare will be disappointed. The movie is very high in dialogue and extremely predictable. While the
storyline may too over-done, there are a few nice surprises thrown in to keep the audience entertained.
The cinematography is breath-taking and DiCaprio plays an astounding role; however, this is not one of
Scorsese better films.
