TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE

In this latest politically motivated, election year
movie Paramount Studios sends us a most unusual
cast of marionette super heroes commanded by
directors Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park
fame.
If words like satire, irreverent and crude just popped
into your head, you're right on track. Not your usually
action flick, but a new blend of shocking marionette
humor with a musical score to match. No expletives
were deleted in the making of this movie. In fact,
several new ones were invented and added.
If you are a South Park fan this film is made for you,
literally. The rest of the audience is doomed to sit
there wondering why everyone else is laughing so
hard. And they may never know. Trey Parker, Matt
Stone, Kristen Miller and Daran Norris are among
the notable voices heard. Watch for world leaders
and prominent folks in their marionette form. The list
is long, and clever.
The MPAA rating is R. The marionette sex scene is
enough to put the blush on a redwood puppet.
Brenda's Comment
So many curse words and so little time to
squeeze them all in, two hours. A very
clever take on world politics from our
friends at South Park who know how to
yank some chains. Team America is a
satirical look at an American comando-type
unit that will destroy anything to save it. Or
something like that. See it, be shocked.
That's the idea.
Mary's Comment
I've never scene anything quite like this
offering from Paramount. Everyone and
everything is game to be the butt of a joke.
The songs are clever, and equally crude.
Probably most outstanding were the
caricature crafted marionettes. See what
you think, but be forewarned, if you are not
familiar with the South Park brand of
humor, better watch a few episodes and
see if this is one is for you.
