WALK THE LINE
SYNOPSIS
He picked cotton, sold door to door, and
served in the Air Force. He was a voice of
rebellion that changed the face of rock
and roll. An outlaw before today's rebels
were born – and an icon they would never
forget. He did all this before turning 30.
And his name was Johnny Cash. WALK
THE LINE explores the early years of the
music legend, an artist who transcended
musical boundaries to touch people
around the globe. As his music changed
the world, Cash's own world was rocked
by the woman who became the love of his
life: June Carter. -- © 20th Century Fox
BRENDA AND DAVID
Walk the Line directed by James Mangold follows the life of Johnny Cash (Joaquin Phoenix) from his days
growing up on his father's cotton fields to his legendary performance at Folsom Prison. This film is sure
to be compared to last year's Ray. Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely mesmerizing playing the late Johnny
Cash and Reese Witherspoon is an enchanting as the late June Carter. Phoenix was hand-picked by the
late Johnny Cash for the roll, sang all the songs and learned to play the guitar and Witherspoon did all of
her own singing. Do we see Oscar nominations for Phoenix and Witherspoon? The great music and love
story are reasons to take your date to see Walk the Line.
