Twi-Hard Fans rejoice, Part 1 of the last book in the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has finally
hit theatres. With an Oscar Winning filmmaker Bill Condon (
Gods and Monsters, Kinsey) taking
reigns of this teen melodrama this installment is the best yet.   Finally the chemistry between the
depressing Bella Swan (Kirsten Stewart;
Panic Room, Twilight Saga) and her dark and gloomy
vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson,
Water for Elephants, Twilight Saga) is in full
swing and will definitely satisfy its Twi-Hard fans. The wedding is as beautiful and enchanting as
anyone could imagine and the long awaited wedding dress is revealed looking as stunning and
captivating as one would expect. Surely there will be many knockoffs created for the upcoming
wedding season. The Brazilian honeymoon shows some breathtaking views and brilliant
cinematography.   I have to give props to Condon for the filming of the violent sex scenes portrayed
in the book.   He danced around the subject so delicately and showed just enough so Twi-hard fans
were aware of what was happening yet the younger followers of the series were not exposed to
unnecessary material.  For the first time since the series has begun Kirsten Stewart is able to
conjure up some exceptional acting reminiscent of her Panic Room role back in 2002; portraying
the dying Bella trying to protect the half-human half-vampire baby killing her from the inside. The
importance of the wolves breaking pack and Jacob (Taylor Lautner;
 Valentine’s Day, Twilight
Saga
) taking his position as alpha is somewhat sidelined and then mocked in the silly battle
between the other wolves, Jacob and his followers and the Cullens. The birthing scene is filmed
brilliantly and Kirsten again deserves to be recognized for her outstanding performance in this
scene. The ending for Part 1 ends at her at “rebirth” which is a perfect prelude to what awaits in
the dark and action packed Part 2.
